Have made this for over 40 years. Don't recall the origin of the recipe, but very easy. A bit on the sweet side.
Line a greased pan (8"x8"x2") with lots of fresh (peeled and sliced) peaches (or apples, pears).
Spread batter over fruit.
Mix 1 cup sugar (less sugar for apples or pears) with 1/2 cup water and pour over batter and peaches.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done.
