Ingredients

    sugar
  • 1 cup
    brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup
    kosher salt
  • ½ cup
    paprika
  • ¼ cup
    black pepper
  • ¼ cup
    chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons
    turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons
    cayenne powder, use to desired spice optional
  • 2 tablespoons
    garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons
    onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon
    ginger powder

Notes

A 10 lb pork shoulder probably won't hold more than 1/2 - 3/4 cups of rub.
