Fold in the minced onion and crabmeat, then season with salt and white pepper to taste.
Taste and adjust the seasonings — you want a good balance of richness from the cream cheese and brightness from the horseradish.
Spoon the mixture into a shallow baking dish and scatter the sliced almonds evenly over the top.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until heated through and the almonds are golden.
Serve immediately with crackers or toasted baguette slices.
