Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons
    Sesame Oil
  • 3
    Thai Bird Chilies, (Red Thai Chili Peppers)
  • ½
    Red Onion, Chopped long, not diced
  • 5
    Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 pound
    Ground Chicken, Can Substitue with Turkey
  • 1 tablespoon
    Fish Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons
    Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons
    Brown Sugar or Honey
  • ⅓ cup
    Chicken Broth
  • ¾ cup
    Thai Basil Leaves, Whole
  • 1 cup
    White Steamed Rice, (if served over rice) optional
  • ½
    Head of Lettuce, (if served as wraps)

Preparation

  1. 8 mins

    - In a wok (or large pan) over high heat, add oil, chilies, red onions, and garlic and fry for 1-2 minutes
    - Add ground chicken or turkey and stir fry for 2 more minutes, breaking meat up into small bits
    - Add fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar or honey, stir fry for another minute

  2. 10 mins

    - Add chicken broth and stir to deglaze pan. Broth should cook off fairly quicky over high heat.
    - After broth cooks off, add Thai Basil leaves and cook until wilted
    - Remove from heat and serve over steamed white rice or in lettuce wraps

    Probably the tastiest thing I've ever made and it was so easy! You can always substitute regular basil and Serrano chillies if you can't find Thai ingredients
