For the crust:
Crush wafers and mix well with melted butter. Press into bottom of 8-inch springform pan.
Mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla well. Add one egg at a time and mix until combined.
Bake at 325 for 50-55 minutes. Should be set in the middle. Some cracking along the edges is to be expected.
For the mousse:
Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla together. Fold in Cool Whip. Top cooled cheesecake.
