Drain the soaked dates and add them to your blender with the cacao powder and olive oil.
Blend on high, stopping frequently to scrape down the sides and let the motor rest. Add water gradually until you reach a smooth, pudding-like consistency. (Patience here - dates are stubborn but will eventually surrender to a creamy paste)
Fold in the frozen cherries by hand, leaving some whole for texture.
Divide between bowls and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
