Homemade Kaluha recipe from my grandfather. No aging required.

Ingredients

  • 52 fluid ounces
    water, split into 26 and 26
  • 1.5 ounces
    instant coffee
  • 2 cups
    Granulated Sugar
  • 1.5 ounces
    Pure Vanilla
  • 1 pint
    Pure Grain Alcohol

Equipment

  • 1 medium sauce pan, needs to be able to hold 26 oz of water
  • 1 large sauce pan, needs to be able to old 52 oz of water

Preparation

  1. Boil 26 ounces of water

  2. Add instant coffee and stir until mixed

  3. 10 mins

    remove from heat and let cool

  4. In another pot boil the 2nd 26 ounces of water

  5. when boiling stir in sugar until dissolved

  6. 10 mins

    remove from heat and let cool

  7. add vanilla and grain alcohol to 2nd pot when cool

  8. pour pot 1 into pot 2 and stir well

  9. funnel into bottles
